Archive for January, 2010Animal AttractionSaturday, January 23rd, 2010 A Cause For DesignFriday, January 22nd, 2010 Things Out of Character is a line of limited edition prints created to benefit charity. Coming from the design studio of Character [of which I am a partner], a multi-disciplinary design consultancy based in San Francisco, each poster is original artwork by Character’s staff. Each print is limited to an edition of 50 and can be purchased through Character’s website. Character will donate 100% of the profits to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), an international humanitarian organization that provides aid in nearly 60 countries. MSF provides independent, impartial assistance to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, exclusion from health care, or natural disasters. Giclée prints are 16” x 24”, printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art archival paper, and hand-numbered edition of 50. All profits benefit charity. Prints can be viewed and purchased directly at the Character Store. In WonderlandThursday, January 21st, 2010 1. Who dares to paint the roses red? Painted rose dress, Fendi Spring 2009 // 2. The pieces make use of symbols from the story, with charms mixed in with faux pearls and Swarovski crystals. Stella McCartney boutiques are set to carry the accessories in February.
